Optional day trips to Abiquiu, Taos and Bandelier are available with advanced booking for groups of 4 or more. Optional evening activities: Star Party (educational stargazing) on Tuesday and Saturday nights and Santa Fe Opera on Saturday nights in July and August.

Morning - Outdoor Adventure

Guests enjoy a choice of one adventure activity each morning. Guided hiking on a scenic trail is available every day. Hiking groups are based on desire and fitness, so that guests are challenged by choice. The "easiest" group may explore during a two-mile discovery walk, while the most adventurous group may experience six to eight miles of trail hiking or running. In addition, one rotating adventure activity such as whitewater rafting, mountain biking, horseback riding, golf or fly-fishing is offered each day. A choice such as golf, horseback riding, or fly-fishing is offered as a "premium activity" requiring an additional fee. Comfortable passenger vans provide transportation to and from your adventures. Guides are experienced, engaging and well-trained, to provide guests with coaching, experiential challenges and education. The guide-to-guest ratio is relatively low, providing additional attention and distinguished guest service, setting Santa Fe Mountain Adventures apart.

Optional day trips to Abiquiu, Bandelier and Taos are available with advanced booking for groups of 4 or more.

Afternoon - Lifestyle, Mindful or Cultural Activity

After their morning adventure, guests have flexible time to enjoy lunch at a Partner Hotel or a Santa Fe restaurant of their choice. During the afternoon, guests participate in a rotating activity such as yoga or meditation at a Partner Hotel. Alternatively, guests may attend artistic workshops or southwestern cooking classes held at local businesses.

In the late afternoon, guests are encouraged to use their flexible time to indulge in a spa service or to try the fitness offerings of their Partner Hotel. They may also spend time exploring on their own-sampling one of our captivating museums, browsing the art galleries on Canyon Road, or shopping around the Plaza.

Spa, DInner or Flex Time

Guests can enjoy dinner at a Partner Hotel or one of the other tempting restaurants in Santa Fe. Spa activities are also available or guests can use there time to explore the treasures of Santa Fe.

Golf:

Guided Hike:
Mornings come alive in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and the foothills outside town, on our variety of daily guided hikes. You'll join a hiking group based on your desire and fitness—pick the level of challenge that suits you on any particular day. The easiest outing might be a gentle and rolling two-mile walk on Santa Fe's prized Dale Ball Trails, with stops to learn about native flora and local geology—plus views from high above the city—along the way. A more strenuous hike could be the 5.5-mile ascent of Atalaya Mountain, on the edge of the Pecos Wilderness and the Santa Fe Watershed, with more vigorous uphill climbs and the summit reward of an eagle's eye view of northern New Mexico, from the Jemez Mountains to the Galisteo Basin. Our guides' wisdom and encouragement will keep you smiling no matter how hard your heart is pounding.

Optional day trips, for extra-special hikes, encompass farther-flung destinations like Bandelier National Monument in the Jemez Mountains, Kitchen Mesa and Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, and Wheeler Peak—New Mexico's highest point—near Taos.
(Additional Fee Required)
Mountain Biking:
Discover why Santa Fe is a well-kept mountain-biking secret. A fat-tire feast of exciting trail riding abounds in the Santa Fe National Forest and other areas nearby. Our guided mountain biking is tailored to a variety of skill levels and interests, from an easy cruise along the Santa Fe Rail Trail, a broad path with fun rollers and views of piñon-studded countryside, to thrilling rides on the steep and twisty singletrack of the Winsor or Chamisa trails. While trails like these two demand exertion, they promise riders stunning visual compensation, like glimpses of blooming mountain meadows and babbling rocky creeks. Our expert guides on these morning rides are knowledgeable insiders, intimate with the terrain and handy with a spare tube.

Optional day trips, for extra-special mountain-bike rides, encompass challenging and popular destinations like the downhill-rich South Boundary Trail near Taos, the sustained climbing of Glorieta Baldy near Pecos and historic Bland Canyon near Cochiti.
Whitewater Rafting:
Some of the most fun sections of the Rio Grande—including the adrenaline-inducing class III Racecourse stretch—are within striking distance of Santa Fe. On our rafting trips, you'll experience the pleasures of drifting down the Rio Grande, one of America's most impressive rivers, through awe-inspiring southwestern canyons. Optional day trips may take on the thrilling Class IV Box, or the gorgeous Chama River in the heart of Georgia O'Keeffe country.
