When you make your reservation, please review our sample adventure program for information about the kinds of activities we offer. Approximately three weeks before your visit, we'll contact you to help you choose specific activities for your visit. We'll also provide additional detail about what to expect during your stay. When you arrive, you will receive a packet containing your schedule and other specific information.

What to Pack

Excited about your visit? So are we! Here are some tips about what to bring along:

  • Comfortable clothing for hiking, biking and other outdoor adventures—lightweight, non-cotton layers work best in the high-desert climate of Santa Fe
  • Rain jacket for the occasional cloudburst
  • Fleece, sweater or jacket for cool evenings
  • Hiking boots or trail-running shoes with good traction (and appropriate socks)
  • Padded cycling shorts
  • River shoes, such as Chacos or Tevas, for rafting and fishing
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Sun hat or visor
  • A hydration pack and/or a backpack
  • Camera and film

In winter, please also pack several warm layers (synthetics, wool and fleece work best), warm non-cotton socks, a water-resistant outer layer, and a warm hat and gloves in addition to the above.

Weather

Summer weather in Santa Fe is consistently mild, sunny and dry. We have an average of more than 300 days of sunshine per year. Daytime highs range from the upper 70s to low 90s and nighttime lows are generally in the 50s and 60s. Monsoon season, July and August, brings afternoon thunderstorms that pass quickly.

Winter weather is also generally sunny and mild: Daytime highs range from the 30s to 50s, with nighttime lows in the teens to 20s. We receive snowstorms, especially between February and April, though the snow in town typically melts quickly. For more specific forecasts, visit weather.com.

Altitude

At 7,000 feet and more above sea level, the Santa Fe region is a high-altitude destination. Visitors are advised to take it easy upon arrival. Drink plenty of water and watch your alcohol intake (one drink here is the equivalent of three at sea level). Some travelers experience headaches or other altitude-related symptoms during the first day of their visit.

Release/Waiver

All guests must review and sign a release waiver prior to their participation in the program.
