This exciting adventure involves the use of GPS devices to discover and explore some of Santa Fe’s most prominent historical and cultural landmarks. As part of the challenge, group participants will find popular sights and learn more about historic Santa Fe in a fun and adventurous way. At several stops, guests also undertake a team challenge before proceeding to the next destination.
Groups share and bond during this unique event, held in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains as well as other scenic locations. We add new excitement to a group hike in a beautiful setting by combining fun, physical activity and GPS (Global Positioning System) technology. After a briefing with the guide who will accompany them on the course, each team uses an advanced GPS device to search for a hidden location, where they unearth a clue, and sometimes undertake team challenges, to help them find the next destination. We emphasize team building, communication and fun!
Your group will enjoy an exhilarating all-terrain vehicle ride in a Swiss Army truck (a “Pinzgauer”) followed by a fun GPS trek to search for hidden, scenic locations. After the fun 4×4 ride, experience our unique trekking adventure with GPS technology. Our guides will brief the teams on how to use the GPS devices and lead them on a stimulating scavenger hunt through the mountain forests or canyon landscapes of New Mexico, all the while promoting camaraderie and encouraging problem-solving skills.
The Southwestern Cooking scavenger hunt, also using GPS devices, takes place in the heart of Santa Fe with a focus on Santa Fe history and our distinctive southwestern cuisine. Teams visit popular sites and learn about historic Santa Fe while gathering crucial resources and information for creating a gourmet meal or completing a history trivia challenge. Following the hunt, the teams will participate in a hands-on cooking class overseen by the Santa Fe School of Cooking’s outstanding local chefs. End the day with a meal created by all the participants!
Groups that thrive on challenge and adventure will find our multi-sport adventure stimulating and rewarding. Teams are given the unique task of navigating a scenic course while undertaking three exciting challenges such as geocaching with GPS technology, mountain biking and archery. Other fun and competitive activities include dummy steer roping and horseshoes. Teammates, who must collaborate and support and encourage each other to meet the challenge, gain valuable insights into their colleagues as well as New Mexico’s spectacular landscapes.
