        1. Booking a Tour<\/h3>\n

        Santa Fe Mountain Adventures offers private outdoor adventures that include guided hikes, mountain biking adventures, off-road “Jeep” excursions, and cultural tours to places like Bandelier National Monument.<\/p>\n

        Contact us via e-mail or by phone to book your adventure. \u00a0You can also book a few of our adventures online. Full payment for our tours is to be made a week prior to the activity. \u00a0The SFMA team will send a payment link along with a copy of our invoice. Payment, once made within 7 days of the excursion, will be nonrefundable except for weather related cancellations made by SFMA.<\/p>\n

        Waivers will be sent to clients via email and we will request that they be signed electronically before you go on the excursion.<\/p>\n

        Prior to traveling to Santa Fe and making your flight and hotel arrangements, we strongly suggest that visitors purchase trip insurance.<\/li>\n

        2. Meeting Your Guide<\/h3>\n

        As part of the trip preparation, we will contact you prior to the tour and finalize arrangements for transportation. For private guided hikes, mountain biking adventures and cultural experiences, we can pick you up at your place of lodging, and have you ride with us. \u00a0You can also opt to follow our vehicle in your own car. For our 4×4 adventures, we will pick you up from your downtown area hotel or AirBnB, or meet at a convenient location.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        3. What to Bring<\/h3>\n

        Santa Fe Mountain Adventures will provide our guests with bottled water and snacks. We suggest that you bring the following:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • A sun hat or a baseball cap<\/li>\n
        • Sunscreen<\/li>\n
        • Backpack or fanny pack for guided hikes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          For longer guided hikes, we will have hiking poles, if needed, but we request that, whenever possible, you bring what you need for the outdoor experience.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                1. High Altitude<\/h3>\n

                Santa Fe is situated at an elevation of 7,000 feet (2,133 meters), with many of our hikes starting at higher elevations. We recommend that visitors acclimatize: allow yourself a day or two to get used to the altitude and keep yourself properly hydrated, drinking plenty of water and avoiding excessive intake of alcohol and tobacco.<\/p>\n

                Not everyone will feel the effects of the high altitudes but some visitors will experience nausea or lightheadedness, and headaches. Know yourself, give your body time to adjust, and never over exert yourself.<\/li>\n

                2. Weather<\/h3>\n

                Santa Fe is known for its abundant sunshine and low humidity. We proudly claim to average more than 300 days of sunshine per year. In the summer months, daytime temperatures range from 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius) to a high of 86\u00b0F (30\u00b0C). Be aware that, even on days when the temperatures are in the 70s, the sun can be brutal. Wear a hat and sunscreen, bring your sunglasses, and drink plenty of fluids. Summer nights are cool in the high country and temperatures can sometimes drop to the low 50s (10\u00b0C); bring a light jacket or sweater in case it\u2019s needed.<\/p>\n

                In the winter, temperatures range from a low of 14\u00b0F (-10\u00b0C) to a high of 40\u00b0F (4\u00b0C). The winter of 2008 saw heavier snowfall than usual, particularly up in the Santa Fe Ski Basin, but the city itself has an average of 32 inches of snow each year.<\/li>\n

                3. Clothing\/Outdoors Gear<\/h3>\n

                It\u2019s much more enjoyable being outdoors if you have the appropriate gear so here are some items we recommend you have:<\/p>\n

                  \n
                • Comfortable walking shoes, preferably hiking boots or trail shoes with good traction, and appropriate socks. River shoes, such as Chacos or Tevas, for rafting and fishing.<\/li>\n
                • Lightweight t-shirts \u2013 it\u2019s best to bring non-cotton layers<\/li>\n
                • Sweatshirt or jacket for early morning and evening hikes<\/li>\n
                • Rain gear for the July and August thunderstorms<\/li>\n
                • Sunscreen\/sunblock and lip balm<\/li>\n
                • Hat or baseball cap<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                   <\/p>\n

                  In the winter, please also pack several warm layers (synthetics, wool and fleece work best), warm non-cotton socks, a water-resistant outer layer, and a warm hat and gloves in addition to the above.<\/li>\n

                  4. Basic Rules<\/h3>\n
                    \n
                  • Children and minors under the age of 18 will require adult supervision.<\/li>\n
                  • Dogs under 100 pounds can accompany clients \u2013 limit of 2 per outing. No other pets are allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

                    5. Release Waiver<\/h3>\n

                    All guests must review and sign a release waiver prior to their participation in the program.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    OUR RATES AND POLICIES<\/h2>\n

                    Our rates are based on the number of hours you are out with us as well as the number of participants in the group. Pricing can be found alongside our featured hikes\/offerings. Published rates do not include New Mexico\u2019s Gross Receipts Tax nor do they include gratuities for our guides.<\/p>\n

                    Here\u2019s what we do include. Santa Fe Mountain Adventures will provide bottled water, snacks (fruit and granola bars), as well as the use of our fanny packs, rain gear and walking sticks. Entrance fees are also included with the exception of special requests (such as a visit to the O\u2019Keeffe Home and Studio in Abiquiu).<\/p>\n

                    We will pick up from most places of lodging within the greater Santa Fe area at no additional cost.<\/p>\n

                    PAYMENT, CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS<\/h2>\n

                    Payment for all of our adventures is to be made in full seven days prior to the excursion. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. SFMA will send a payment link via our online booking system.<\/p>\n

                    If you need to cancel your Santa Fe Mountain Adventures excursion for any reason, please contact us as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

                    For leisure guests, a full refund will be provided if you cancel 7 days before the scheduled outing. \u00a0No refund will be provided if cancellations are made less than 7 days before an outing or if there is a No Show.<\/p>\n

                    Group programs and multi-day customized tours have a one-month or longer cancellation period.<\/p>\n

                    Santa Fe Mountain Adventures reserves the right to cancel a guided adventure at any time due to inclement weather conditions or other safety reasons. In the event we cancel, we will provide you with a full refund.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
